Shivali Ganesh, a compassionate Psychologist at Ummeed Deaddiction and Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore, is committed to fostering mental health and well-being through evidence-based, compassionate care. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (St. Agnes College) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Economics, and Literature from Mount Carmel College (Autonomous). Her academic foundation is further enriched by extensive hands-on training across prominent mental health institutions.
Shivali’s clinical journey has been shaped by diverse experiences in hospitals and rehabilitation settings, where she has honed her therapeutic skills and deepened her understanding of complex psychological conditions. Her internships at Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital equipped her with foundational skills in case history documentation, Mental Status Examinations, and psychosocial interventions. At NITTE Justice K. S. Hegde Hospital, she observed patient consultations, conducted psychiatric assessments, and engaged in case discussions that sharpened her diagnostic insight.
At the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Shivali trained at the Center for Addiction Medicine, where she gained exposure to the nuances of addiction psychiatry. She furthered this expertise at Born Again Recovery Center, offering individual and group counseling to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Here, she facilitated cognitive restructuring, role-play exercises, and relapse prevention strategies, reinforcing her strength in therapeutic group dynamics.
Shivali has also worked closely with neurodivergent and pediatric populations. At Anirvedha Resource Center and the Dr. S. R. Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing, she delivered supervised interventions and assessments for children with Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and developmental delays. Her holistic approach incorporates behavioral, cognitive, and emotional frameworks, tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Complementing her academic and clinical expertise are certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy (Level 1), and Psychodynamic Therapy, along with training in Pre-Hospital Care and Basic Life Support.
